Beyonce, World's Smallest Rescue Dog
Tinier than a kitten, little pooch Beyonce could be the world's SMALLEST ever rescue dog. Under care at animal charity The Grace Foundation, in El Dorado Hills, California, she has become best friends with kitten 'Cat Stevens' who is BIGGER than she is. In fact, Beyonce is so small she looks like a toy next to another of the sanctuary's rescue dogs and doggy pal - huge bull mastiff Buster. At just eight inches long and weighing only 3lbs 1oz, Beyonce is a shadow of Buster's hulking mass. But despite her miniature stature making her super cute - 'miracle' pup Beyonce nearly died because of it. Being so small - five-month-old Beyonce was still-born - smaller than even the runt of her litter - on March 8th and could fit into a spoon. Thankfully she was revived by vet Dr. Michael Russell and lived to tell her tale. Now workers at the animal sanctuary, run by Beth DeCaprio, are trying to find a loving home for Beyonce and hope her tiny size will underline health problems faced by other dogs purposefully bred to be micro-sized.
