Man Attempts To Break World Record On Go-Kart
Adrian Bennett drives his Jet Powered Go-Kart on February 2, 2012 in London, England. This homemade jet-powered Go-Kart could one day smash the world record by travelling one hundred miles-per-hour. It cost just £1,200 to build in a Shropshire garage. The 1,000 Centigrade diesel fuelled afterburner currently reaches 70 miles per hour, just a fraction from the current 71.34 mile-per-hour world record. Jet-obsessed computer engineer, Adrian Bennett, 40, spent 150 hours lovingly building his 120 break-horse-power jet-powered machine from a Schwitzer Turbo charged engine base. Sixteen stone Adrian admits that his chances of breaking the record would be higher if he lost some weight before formally going for the world record, but with 25 years of hobby jet-building behind him, Adrian thinks he is has a fighting chance.
