In response to the international outcry about stray dogs being killed in the streets of many cities within Ukraine, the international animal welfare organization FOUR PAWS launched a large-scale stray animal neutering, vaccination, and release program in April 2012. The Project is already supported by the cities of Kiev, Lviv, Zaporozhye, and Donetsk. More cities are expected to join in soon. FOUR PAWS' team is made up of seven mobile clinics and a similar number of rescue cars as well as dozens of international experts and dozens of volunteers.
