A young male elephant lies trapped upside down for two hours after falling into a ditch on a tea estate on September 16, 2011 in Bokakhat, india. The animal was discovered in the muddy trench at the Borsapori Tea Estate near Bokakhat in Northeast India on Wednesday morning. A team from the Assam Forest Department assisted by International Fund for Animal Welfare and Wildlife Trust of India (IFAW-WTI) veterinarians and local people came to the animal's assistance and a heavy wheeled excavator was deployed to cut down the sides of the ditch. After about 30 minutes of excavation, the young elephant was able to get back on his feet. After standing he charged at the excavator before running towards the tea garden as the crowd cheered and made loud noises to direct him towards the forest. (Footage by Barcroft Media/Getty Images)
